- Secure licences and clearances for music, photos, videos and other materials used in radio, digital and television programming
- Transparent synchronization and mechanical reproduction rights
- Advise in-house teams on legislation, collective agreements and corporate practices regarding music, text and other materials
- Notify staff of potential copyright infringements or high-risk practices and collaborate with administrators and legal counsel
- Evaluate rights clearance and royalty costs and provide estimates to producers and administrators
- Research and locate rightsholders
- Negotiate and secure broadcast, residual, synchronization and mechanical reproduction licences or clearances
- Forecast rights clearance costs with production teams
- Recommend alternative creative solutions and workflows for rights clearance and copyright asset documentation
- Complete forms and documents and prepare correspondence and reports
- Explain duties to familiarize others with their jobs

Requirements

- College diploma (DEC)
- Three (3) years’ experience in a role related to copyright and music clearance
- Experience negotiating and securing copyright and music licences for broadcast/digital distribution in both official languages
- Knowledge of the media industry and current copyright and music-clearance trends and best practices across radio, television and digital platforms




- Ability to communicate effectively with clients over the phone
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel) and Windows environments
- Bilingualism, spoken and written
- Familiarity with talent associations including UdA, SARTEC and AFM is an asset
- Language testing, interviews, and possible skills and knowledge testing
- Mandatory criminal record check for candidates advancing in the recruitment process
