Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Custodian to join our team on a maternity leave coverage basis. This vital role ensures that our facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming for staff, visitors, and clients alike. As a Custodian, you will play a key part in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and facilities maintenance that support our organization’s operations.

Duties

- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas within the facility, including offices, restrooms, common areas, and specialized spaces
- Conduct routine commercial cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, carpets, windows, and fixtures using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, reporting repairs needed, and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Support overall building upkeep by monitoring supply levels and requesting replenishments as necessary
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all cleaning and maintenance activities




- Collaborate with team members to ensure the facility remains organized, safe, and presentable at all times

Skills

- Proven experience in cleaning or commercial cleaning environments with a strong understanding of cleaning techniques and safety procedures
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices to address minor repairs or reporting larger issues promptly
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards consistently
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting maintenance needs
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment
