Role Description This full-time on-site Customs Specialist role is based in Mississauga, ON.

The Customs

Specialist will manage daily import customs clearance activities, ensuring compliance with relevant customs regulations and internal policies.

Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing documentation, coordinating with customs authorities and brokers, and resolving issues related to shipments, duties, and tariffs. The role involves communicating with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and accurate processing of international freight.

Specialist will also help maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and support continuous improvement in customs processes.

Qualifications





- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Customs Brokerage, with the ability to manage compliance and documentation accurately.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working for a Canadian customs broker.
- Must have obtained their Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation
- Skills in Import and Import Export operations, including familiarity with customs procedures and trade regulations.
- Experience with Export processes, documentation, and regulatory requirements for international shipments.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with customs authorities, brokers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
- Ability to interpret and apply customs laws, tariffs, and trade agreements; experience with Canadian customs regulations is an asset.
- Proficiency with logistics and customs-related software and standard office applications.
- Relevant post-secondary education in logistics, international trade, supply chain, or a related field; professional customs or freight forwarding certifications are an advantage.
- Experience using the CARM Client Portal, including familiarity with customs accounting, payments, and related CBSA processes.
