Putmans Dairy Ltd. is seeking a reliable and experienced Dairy Herdsperson to support the daily operations of our contemporary dairy farm. The successful candidate will be responsible for livestock care, milking, and maintaining herd health in accordance with industry standards.
Our farm consists of approximately 100 dairy cows, and young stock.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Milking cows, handling animals
- Monitoring animal health and detecting and treat certain diseases
- Harvest crops for feed dairy cows
- Feeding animals
- Breeding program animals
- Maintain livestock performance records
- Operate and maintain farm equipment
- Organization problem-solving and basic computer knowledge.
- General farm duties.
Job Requirements
- Completion of post-secondary agricultural school is an asset
- 3 Years previous experience in dairy farming is required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks, lifting, and working in a farm environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Capability for Teamwork and being reliable
- Basic English skills (speaking and understanding)
- Having driver’s license
