Data Analytics Intern
Location: Canada | Work Arrangement: Remote | Employment Type: Internship
Position Overview
We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Data Analytics Intern to support data-driven business initiatives through structured analysis, reporting, and insight generation. The successful candidate will work with business and operational data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and contribute to informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, validate, and analyze data from relevant internal and external sources.
- Conduct exploratory and descriptive analysis to identify trends, patterns, and performance gaps.
- Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports to support business and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and data visualizations for stakeholder reporting.
- Assist in defining, tracking, and interpreting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Investigate data inconsistencies and coordinate with relevant teams to improve data accuracy.
- Translate business requirements into transparent analytical outputs and recommendations.
- Communicate analytical findings through concise reports, presentations, and visualizations.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for datasets, reporting processes, and analytical methodologies.
- Support continuous improvements to reporting and data analysis processes.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of fundamental data analysis and statistical concepts.
- Familiarity with SQL, spreadsheets, and data visualization tools.
- Basic knowledge of Python or another programming language used for data analysis is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical reasoning skills.
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
