We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office. This position requires a solid understanding of dental procedures and excellent interpersonal skills to support both the dental team and patients.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software using Power Practice.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Manage sterilization of instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment areas.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
- Support orthodontic procedures if necessary.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure seamless patient communication and scheduling.
- Handle pediatric patients with care, ensuring their comfort during visits.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred; familiarity with orthodontics or pediatrics is a plus.
- Proficient in using dental software such as Power Practice for record management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate patient records.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing compassionate care.
- Certification in Dental Assisting is required.
