Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant Level II, where your expertise will elevate patient care and streamline dental operations. This is a full time 13 month maternity leave contract with possibility of transitioning into a permanent position. In this energetic role, you'll support hygienists and dentists in making sure their days run smoothly.
Your proficiency in dental assisting, combined with knowledge of IPAC standards, will be vital to our clinic's success. We are committed to fostering a collaborative, friendly workplace that values your skills and dedication.
Responsibilities
- Working daily in the sterilization lab area following IPAC standards to maintain flow of dentist and hygiene schedules.
- Prepare treatment rooms between patients when needed with necessary instruments and materials to keep flow going smoothly
- Assist dentists during examinations and treatments by handing instruments, managing patient comfort, and ensuring procedural efficiency.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) if needed, adhering to safety protocols and medical terminology standards
- Manage patient records as necessary using dental practice management software Tracker
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant Level II or similar role with comprehensive knowledge of dental assisting techniques.
- Proficiency in dental software platform Tracker an asset
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health care.
- Experience working with CAD technology for digital impressions or restorations is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide compassionate patient care.
- Certification in dental assisting from an accredited program
