DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Working Hours: Weekdays, 35 hours
Annual Salary: $54,917.00 to $91,114.00
Start Date: As soon as possible
NATURE AND SCOPE
Under the supervision of the Director, Development and External Affairs, the Development Officer plays a key role in developing and implementing activities related to major gifts and annual fund campaigns and initiatives. The incumbent actively contributes in building lasting, trusting relationships with donors through the implementation of solicitation, cultivation, retention and stewardship strategies.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, cultivates, stewards, and solicits a portfolio of individual donors, corporate partners, and private foundations at the major gift level to increase the philanthropic revenue of the Foundation
- Executes strategic plans for fundraising programs, alumni relations, and solicitation campaigns
- Effectively communicates Marianopolis’ philanthropic priorities and the impact of giving to donors through storytelling
- Contributes to the development and execution of annual giving strategies
- Identifies and builds the mid-level and major gifts pipelines
- Develops and implements innovative approaches to diversify funding sources and support Foundation’s revenue growth
- Prepares and negotiates partnership agreements with donors, in accordance with established guidelines
- Follows up on philanthropic commitments (pledges, timelines, renewals)
- Collaborates actively with internal and external stakeholders to maximize development opportunities
- Develops operational content as needed (presentations, solicitation tools, information packages, activity reports and similar)
- Maintains accurate donor records and fundraising activity in CRM, including the reports preparation, letters of appreciation and follow up, as required
- Ensures an active presence and continuous learning of related fundraising activities within Quebec educational sector, to ensure the integration of the best practices
- Participates in the development and execution of fundraising events, as well as in other College Events

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising or any other related field, preferably in an educational setting
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel intermediate level, advanced level in Word and PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with digital tools, philanthropic CRM systems and engagement platforms
- Strong knowledge of trends and practices in the philanthropic sector
- Knowledge of the Quebec secondary and post-secondary education sector an asset
- Fluently bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written
