You have articulated a explicit academic vision in the past and taken full ownership of its execution. You have led visibly and decisively, not from the periphery. Your engagement with learning science is not superficial—you have created tangible systems, produced measurable outcomes, and earned credibility to communicate that work publicly. If this describes your background, 2 Hour Learning is seeking its academic leader.
2 Hour Learning has developed a framework enabling students to learn at twice the typical pace within a daily two-hour window. This acceleration is supported by AI-driven tutoring, mastery-based advancement, and structural departures from traditional classroom design. Outcomes have been validated.
We now require a leader capable of aligning execution across varied school implementations, elevating academic leadership standards, and serving as the authoritative voice for a model rooted in evidence-based learning science.
This position is not centered on theoretical exploration. It is a leadership obligation. You will direct academic strategy in operational terms, establish clear performance benchmarks, surface execution shortfalls, and guide high-performing teams toward consistent results. You will convert our scientific underpinnings into operational rigor and articulate the rationale for this approach to external audiences.
What You Will Be Doing
- Developing academic frameworks that bridge learning science principles with actionable direction for curriculum design, motivational architecture, and application development.
- Facilitating academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to verify alignment, enforce accountability, and confirm delivery of outcomes across school sites.
- Integrating data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify high-impact obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend targeted solutions.
- Ensuring strategic coherence through structured planning, iterative feedback,
and milestone oversight to sustain focus on learning objectives.
- Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-level forums, including keynote presentations and engagements with education ministries, to influence global understanding of effective schooling models.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Working on isolated curriculum initiatives that lack systemic impact.
- Producing theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or implementation.
- Transferring performance oversight responsibilities to mid-level managers or external advisors.
- Depending on institutional prestige or conceptual arguments to convince critical audiences.
Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by consolidating execution across school environments, raising leadership performance standards, and establishing yourself as the authoritative public advocate for a movement anchored in rigorous science and demonstrated outcomes.
Basic Requirements
- Either an advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Cognitive Science, or a related field; or an advanced degree in another field combined with an exceptional, externally recognized record of applying learning science to improve education at scale
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting
