ODIMA Construction is seeking an experienced, strategic, and highly organized Director of Operations to lead and optimize the company’s day-to-day construction operations.

The Director of Operations will be responsible for ensuring that projects, people, subcontractors, resources, schedules, budgets, and client commitments are coordinated effectively from pre-construction through completion.

This is a senior leadership position for an individual who understands construction operations, project management, financial controls, team leadership, and the importance of delivering high-quality projects on time, on budget, and to ODIMA’s standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

Lead and oversee day-to-day construction operations across multiple projects.

Establish operational systems, processes, and performance standards.

Ensure projects are properly staffed, scheduled, resourced, and executed.

Develop and implement operating procedures that improve efficiency, accountability, and profitability.

Identify operational risks and develop solutions before they affect project delivery.

Establish clear communication and accountability between management, project teams, trades, suppliers, and clients.

Project & Construction Management

Oversee the performance of Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and construction teams.

Monitor project schedules, budgets, procurement, quality, and milestones.

Ensure projects remain aligned with approved scopes, contracts, budgets, and timelines.

Review project performance regularly and take corrective action when necessary.

Support teams in resolving construction, scheduling, subcontractor, and client issues.





Ensure appropriate documentation, reporting, change management, and closeout procedures are followed.

Financial & Business Performance

Work closely with leadership and accounting to monitor project profitability.

Review budgets, costs, forecasts, change orders, commitments, and cash-flow requirements.

Develop operational KPIs and reporting systems.

Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs and improve margins.

Hold project teams accountable for financial and operational performance.

Subcontractor & Vendor Management

Build and maintain robust relationships with qualified subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and trades.

Establish standards for subcontractor performance, pricing, scheduling, quality, and safety.

Assist with subcontractor selection, negotiations, and performance reviews.

Ensure procurement is coordinated with project schedules and budgets.

Team Leadership

Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing operational personnel.

Establish transparent roles, responsibilities, expectations, and performance metrics.

Create a culture of accountability, professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Conduct regular operational meetings and performance reviews.

Identify training and development opportunities for team members.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure projects meet ODIMA’s quality standards and applicable building and safety requirements.

Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.

Ensure proper inspections, documentation, permits, and regulatory requirements are coordinated.

Establish quality-control processes to reduce deficiencies, rework, delays, and warranty issues.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Support the project team in maintaining strong client relationships.

Escalate and resolve significant client concerns promptly and professionally.

Ensure client expectations are aligned with contractual scope, schedule, budget, and project objectives.

Represent ODIMA professionally with homeowners, developers, architects, engineers, consultants, municipalities, and other stakeholders.

Strategic Responsibilities The Director of Operations will work closely with the President/Founder to:

Develop and execute the company’s operational growth strategy.

Scale construction operations while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.

Improve systems, technology, reporting, and project controls.

Establish measurable operational KPIs.

Improve project forecasting and profitability.

Build a scalable organizational structure.

Strengthen vendor and subcontractor networks.

Identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement.

Support the company's continued growth throughout Toronto and the GTA.

Pay: $108,218.26-$164,174.42 per year
