Eternal Abundance is an all organic, vegan market & eatery on Commercial Drive and we are looking to hire a dedicated, long-term dishwasher/juice+smoothie maker to join our back kitchen team.

About the position:

The position is a combination of working both the dishwashing station and juice/smoothie station. You'll be making customer drinks fresh to order quickly and accurately, prepare fresh and frozen vegetables and fruit, and wash the store's dishes. Other tasks include general cleaning like sweeping, mopping, and taking out recycling and compost.

Job Requirements:

- Valid work permit
- Can communicate effectively in English
- Flexible schedule, able to work weekends and evenings
- Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months employment
- Able to lift 50lbs. Some boxes of fruit and veg are heavy!
- Punctual
- Valuable communication skills
- Fast paced worker, can hustle
- Able to stay calm under pressure
- Okay to work under minimal supervision in a semi-isolated environment.
- Positive attitude

Schedule requirements: 3-5 shifts per week. Shifts are approx 7.5-8hrs long.

This position is mostly evening shifts (12:15pm ~8:30pm) with the occasional morning shift (9am ~4pm)(end time can vary depending on how busy the day was)).

*Weekend availability is preferred . You might not be scheduled every weekend, but we are less likely hire anyone who has restrictions on Saturdays and Sundays.





Please note that there is no set schedule. We have a team of about 15 people, many of which are in school, take vacations, call in sick sometimes, and as such, the schedule is always changing. The candidate needs to have a flexible schedule and understand they will not have the same shifts week to week. The schedule is posted 2-3 weeks in advance to help staff better plan activities outside of work.

We think managing job expectations is important so please take into consideration the following points:

- There is a heavy emphasis on dishwashing, it's about 70% of the job. The candidate must be okay standing and washing dishes for hours.
- This job would suit someone who excels at working alone, is self-driven and self-motivated, and can thrive under minimal supervision. It would not suit someone who is looking for a social environment.
- Dishwashing can be monotonous and isn't very invigorating, but can be good for someone who likes to simply zone-in and focus on one task without distraction.

Compensation is $18.25/hr + tips (which varies) + a daily meal or grocery credit and additional discounts on meals and groceries, as well as the opportunity to order vegan bulk items at nearly wholesale. Pay: $18.25 per hour
