SUMAQ Iraqi Charcoal Grill is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and experienced Dishwasher to join our kitchen team.

As a busy Iraqi charcoal grill restaurant, we prepare fresh food throughout the day and operate in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Dishwasher plays an important role in keeping our kitchen clean, organized, safe, and running efficiently during service.

The ideal candidate is dependable, works well under pressure, and understands the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in a high-volume restaurant kitchen.

Responsibilities

- Wash and sanitize plates, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, trays, skewers, cooking utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing station throughout the shift.
- Clean and sanitize sinks, counters, preparation areas, kitchen equipment, and surrounding workspaces.
- Assist with cleaning equipment and utensils used for our charcoal grill, shawarma, food preparation, and other kitchen stations.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors and keep walkways clean and safe.
- Remove garbage, recycling, and food waste regularly.
- Return clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and equipment to their proper locations.
- Keep storage, garbage, and back-of-house areas clean and organized.
- Support cooks, grill staff, shawarma staff, and other kitchen team members when required.
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning during and after service.
- Complete opening, closing, and deep-cleaning duties as assigned.
- Follow all SUMAQ food safety, sanitation,



and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Perform other kitchen and cleaning duties as required by management.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of previous dishwasher or restaurant kitchen experience is required.
- Experience working in a busy, high-volume restaurant is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently during busy lunch and dinner service.
- Strong understanding of kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working around heat, steam, water, charcoal-grill environments, and cleaning products.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, carry, and lift heavy pots, trays, dishes, garbage bags, and kitchen supplies.
- Adaptable availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience Dishwasher / Restaurant Kitchen Experience: Minimum 2 years required
