Who we are…
As the responsible stewards of public funds, the Department of Finance partners to ensure value for money in the delivery of programs and services for Yukoners. The department serves as the territory’s statistical body, develops the territorial budget and supplementary budgets, and prepares the Public Accounts. It also leads intergovernmental financial relations and, as a central agency, works with departments across government on annual budgeting and the processing of operational accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
The Financial Operations and Revenue Services unit manages and provides guidance and support for the financial operations of accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and financial management information systems for the Government of Yukon. The unit supports the collection of tax revenues through permitting, return processing, issuing assessments and enforcement of tax legislation, as well as manages the government's borrowing and lending programs, and to provide cash management services of the Consolidated Revenue Fund including managing investment of the fund.

The assistant provides executive level administrative services, guidance and advice to the Financial Operations and Revenue Services team including the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM).
The assistant facilitates a variety of administrative and financial functions as well as coordinates the flow of information within government and to the public. They will play an important role in liaising with the Deputy Minister’s (DM) office for the exchange of information. Overall, the ADM Administrative Assistant plays a key role in helping the division stay on task to achieve daily and strategic objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

- Completion of coursework in Business Administration, Office Administration or a related field.
- Considerable experience providing administrative support under tight deadlines to senior level management, preferably in a government or large corporate setting.
- Experience providing a full range of administrative support functions, including but not limited to managing schedules, document coordination and drafting correspondence.
- Experience or training on managing content on SharePoint sites would be an asset.
- Finance experience would be an asset (i.e., processing payments, administering contracts and tracking branch expenses).
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
