Waggy Walks Ottawa is looking for a confident, reliable, and dog-loving Off-Leash Playdate Leader to join our team!

This is a great opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with dogs, being outdoors, and leading a fun and well-managed group of dogs on off-leash playdates.

As a Playdate Leader, you'll be responsible for safely transporting and managing a group of dogs while providing them with an engaging, structured, and enjoyable off-leash experience.

The Position

- Part-time Independent Contractor
- Approximately 2.5 hours per day
- Monday–Thursday
- Primarily servicing Stittsville, Kanata, and Carp
- Approximately 12-2:30pm
- Lead groups of approximately 4–6 dogs
- Off-leash playdates in designated private park
- Reliable, consistent routes and clients
- Opportunity for additional work as mutually agreed upon

What You'll Be Doing

- Safely pick up and transport dogs from their homes
- Lead an off-leash private playdate in a safe and controlled environment
- Monitor the dogs throughout the outing and ensure appropriate group dynamics
- Manage multiple dogs confidently and responsibly
- Provide dogs with exercise, enrichment, and a positive experience
- Safely return dogs home after their adventure
- Communicate professionally with clients and provide updates when needed
- Maintain a high standard of care, safety, and professionalism

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who:

- Genuinely loves dogs and enjoys working with them
- Is confident and comfortable managing a group of dogs off leash
- Has valuable awareness of dog behaviour and group dynamics
- Is reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Is physically active and enjoys spending time outdoors
- Can confidently handle dogs of different sizes, breeds, and personalities
- Is comfortable working independently




- Has excellent judgment and puts safety first
- Is friendly and professional with clients

Requirements

- Reliable vehicle capable of safely transporting 4-6 dogs
- Valid driver's licence
- Proof of insurance
- Previous professional dog-walking, dog-handling, or similar experience is strongly preferred
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Able to safely manage multiple dogs at once

Compensation

- Paid per dog, rather than an hourly wage
- Earnings are based on the number of dogs you bring to the dog park
- Regular routes and consistent clients are available
- Opportunity for additional hours/work as mutually agreed upon
