GlobalTech Group is a full service and installation provider for security, electrical, fire protection, and energy management projects throughout Alberta and we are looking for a Electrical Project Manager to join our team.
JOB OVERVIEW The Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing projects from start to finish. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards, contract requirements, and applicable codes.
The Electrical Project
Manager works closely with the project team, clients, field staff, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver successful projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage multiple electrical construction projects simultaneously.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress, costs, and productivity to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
- Conduct project meetings and provide regular status updates.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and company standards.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and change orders.
- Prepare project documentation, progress billings, and closeout packages.
- Identify and resolve project risks and challenges proactively.
- Mentor field supervisors and support the continued development of project teams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from planning through completion, including scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and implement effective solutions.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clients, field staff, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and support the development of employees.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Journeyperson Electrician certification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial, industrial, or institutional electrical projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and applicable codes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
