Position Overview The Electrical Service Manager is responsible for leading and growing Primera’s electrical operations, with a focus on service, projects, quoting, and customer relationships. This role oversees the day-to-day performance of the electrical team, including scheduling and labour allocation, estimating and quoting, project coordination, job profitability, quality control, technician support, and business development.
You’ll work closely with ownership, administration, technicians, suppliers, contractors, and customers to make sure electrical work is properly planned, efficiently executed, profitable, and completed to Primera’s standards.
This is a hands-on management role for someone who understands the electrical industry, enjoys working with both people and numbers, and can balance field operations, estimating, project coordination, customer service,
sales, and financial performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Electrical Service Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the electrical department
- Coordinate technician scheduling, labour allocation, materials, and upcoming workload
- Ensure work is planned, completed, documented, and invoiced efficiently
- Maintain high standards for workmanship, code compliance, and customer service
- Manage warranties, deficiencies, callbacks, and material returns
- Proactively identify and resolve scheduling, workflow, and operational issues
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, support, and mentor the team of electrical technicians
- Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance
- Monitor workload, productivity, and overall team performance
- Identify training and development opportunities
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and team-focused work environment
- Quoting, Sales and Client Relationships
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations and follow up on outstanding opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective electrical clients
- Act as an account manager for key customers and identify opportunities for repeat and additional work
- Develop relationships with commercial clients, property managers, contractors, strata managers, facilities teams, and other referral partners
- Respond to new leads, conduct site visits, and support the sales process from inquiry through approval
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of upcoming work and contribute to company growth
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and protect Primera’s reputation
- Financial & Job Performance
- Monitor labour, material budgets, job profitability, and department margins
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs or material waste
- Review active jobs regularly and address budget or margin concerns early
- Ensure excess materials are returned and existing inventory is utilized where practical
- Work with administration and ownership to ensure completed work is invoiced promptly
- Regularly review department performance and identify opportunities for profitable growth
Skills & Requirements
- Strong knowledge of the electrical trade,
including service work and electrical projects
- Previous leadership, electrical management, project management, or supervisory experience preferred
- Red Seal Electrician Certification is required
- FSR Certification is a strong asset
- Strong understanding of labour, materials, estimating, job costing, and project profitability
- Ability to lead, support, and hold field technicians accountable while maintaining a positive team setting
- Experience preparing estimates and quotations, reviewing scope, and discussing pricing with customers
- Strong understanding of scheduling, labour allocation, project coordination, and day-to-day electrical operations
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple jobs, projects, deadlines, and competing priorities
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable with sales, business development, and identifying opportunities for additional work
- Comfortable reviewing job profitability, margins, labour performance, and overall operational results
- Practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving and decision-making
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using job management software, email, spreadsheets, and other digital tools
- Construction management software experience is an asset
- Valid BC driver’s licence

Position Details
- Job Type: Full-time (8:00am – 4:30pm)
- Pay: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour
- Hours: 40 per week with occasional overtime
- Additional Pay: Bonus pay, profit sharing, overtime
