Position Overview

As an Electronic Engineer at EmerCom, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our products. Your expertise will span code development, product definition, hardware design, and troubleshooting. If you're ready to make an impact, read on!

Responsibilities

- RTOS Code Developer: write C code in an RTOS environment using tasks and semaphores
- Light HW Design: Capture schematics and modify layouts on new and existing designs
- Develop and build test jigs: Design and build manufacturing test jigs
- Perform lab experiments:



Conduct battery and heat testing as required
- Board troubleshooting and repair: Provide detailed analysis of defective boards
- Customer Support: Assist our team in resolving customer issues promptly

Qualifications and Experience

- Experience: Minimum 4-years experience in HW design and low-level programming
- Education: Degree in Electronic Engineering
- Programming Skills: Excellent programming proficiency in C; Python coding is desirable
- Hardware Skills: Keen schematic capture ability; understanding of board layout principles; 3D modelling, in particular with Fusion
- Observational Skills: Strong analytical, tracking, and organizational abilities
- Independence: Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks without constant supervision
- Problem-Solving: Proficient in troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and proposing viable solutions
- Linux Platform: Exposed to different distributions and proficient in developing code on Linux embedded systems

Beneficial Skills

- Micro-Controllers: Familiarity with TI's MSP430 family
- Hardware Design: Experienced with Mentor Pads, KiCAD, or Altium Designer
- Battery Chargers: Understanding of battery chemistries and charging algorithms
- Safety Certification: Familiarity with North American Safety markings
