About Cavtera
Cavtera builds digital solutions that connect real-world operations with data, software, and decision-making. We work closely with clients to understand how their businesses operate on the ground, then translate those workflows into scalable applications and data systems using Palantir Foundry.
Our team operates with the pace, ownership, and adaptability of a startup while solving complex operational problems for established businesses. We work directly alongside our clients, from the field to the executive level, to build technology that delivers measurable improvements to how their businesses operate.
The Role
We’re looking for an Engagement Manager to facilitate Cavtera client engagements and help shape digital products that solve real operational problems.
The Engagement Manager is part subject matter expert, product owner, and project lead. You’ll serve as the primary bridge between a client’s operational needs and Cavtera’s development team, ensuring the solutions we build are grounded in how the business actually operates, delivered effectively, and creates measurable value.
This role is particularly well suited to someone with significant experience in construction or a related operational environment who wants to bring that expertise into technology. You don’t need to be a software developer. You do need to be curious about technology, comfortable learning what modern platforms can do, and skilled at turning messy, real-world problems into clear product requirements and solutions.
You’ll lead a cross-functional Engagement Team that includes developers and a Technical Lead. You’ll own the client relationship and overall engagement while partnering closely with the Technical Lead on feasibility and architecture.
What You'll Do
- Own the product: Lead the product scope definition process, create wireframes, develop functional requirements, and maintain a roadmap and backlog that keep the focus on the highest-value problems.
- Turn operational problems into digital solutions: Take ambiguous challenges from the field and translate them into concrete, logical product designs that can be implemented using Palantir Foundry.
- Bring subject matter expertise to product decisions:
Use your understanding of construction and field operations to ensure the solutions we build reflect how work actually happens — not just how a process looks on paper.
- Lead the engagement: Own the overall success of client engagements, including priorities, timelines, resource allocation, and coordination across the team.
- Facilitate a cross-functional team: Collaborate with developers and the Technical Lead to keep product, technical delivery, and user adoption aligned.
- Manage client stakeholders: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and executive stakeholders, communicate progress and trade-offs clearly, and manage expectations throughout the engagement.
- Shape practical product roadmaps: Develop enough fluency with Palantir Foundry and Cavtera’s technical capabilities to understand what’s possible and prioritize solutions that are both realistic and high impact.
- Drive delivery: Ensure requirements are clear enough for the technical team to execute effectively, resolve ambiguity as it emerges, and keep work moving toward client outcomes.
- Manage reporting and documentation: Maintain high-quality functional documentation and provide clear updates on budgets, timelines, priorities, and project progress.
- Take entrepreneurial ownership: Identify gaps in the engagement or delivery process and proactively solve them rather than waiting for someone else to do so.
What We're Looking For
- Significant professional experience in construction project management, construction operations, construction management, or a closely related field.
- A deep understanding of how job sites and field operations actually run, including the practical realities that aren’t always captured in formal processes.
- Strong product thinking — the ability to take a vague operational challenge, break it into its component parts, and turn it into a clear solution or set of functional requirements.
- Experience leading complex projects involving multiple teams, stakeholders, priorities, and dependencies.
- Strong client-facing communication skills and confidence working with everyone from field personnel to executive stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including prioritization, roadmap management, and keeping teams aligned around outcomes.
- Comfort creating wireframes and visual representations of product ideas to communicate workflows and requirements.
- A technology-forward mindset and genuine curiosity about how software, data, and automation can improve industrial operations.
- Strong judgment and the ability to balance user needs, business value, technical feasibility, and delivery constraints.
- A high degree of autonomy and ownership — you are comfortable operating in an workplace where not every problem has an established process or obvious answer.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for operational discovery, stakeholder meetings, implementation, and field observation.
Nice To Have
- Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, business, or a related field.
- Experience as a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Superintendent, Construction Manager, Consultant, or in another role with significant exposure to field or business operations.
- Experience with construction project management, scheduling, estimating, ERP, or field management software.
- Experience with Figma, Miro, or similar wireframing and collaborative design tools.
- Experience with product management, business analysis, or requirements gathering.
- Familiarity with agile product development or software delivery methodologies.
- Experience using data analytics or business intelligence tools.
- Exposure to Palantir Foundry or another enterprise data platform.
- Experience participating in or leading a digital transformation initiative.
Salary Range
$100,000 – $150,000 CAD
Compensation is commensurate with experience. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate’s specific skills, technical proficiency, and relevant industry experience.
