Job Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated School Program Staff to join our team in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for children. This is an enhance educator role which involves working closely with children to support their holistic development and foster a love for learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and experience working with children.

You will plan meaningful activities and experiences for children 4-12 years of age in a before and after school setting. Our location has one kindergarten program and two school age programs. This is a split shift role.

Hours are set at 6:30 am-9:30 am and 3:00-5:00 pm. This is for a fall contract for September to December 2026, with the ability to extend the contract into the new year and beyond. There is also a possibility of returning earlier for lunch coverage if needed.

Full time can be expected in the summer, for PA Days, and over March Break.

Duties

- Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs and activities.
- Serve a nutritious snack in the morning and in the afternoon
- Follow children's individualized support plans
- Walk to Ganaraska Trail Public School and/or St. Anthony's Catholic school to drop off and pick up children. There are also two buses that pick up and drop off children before/after school just outside the centre doors.
- Create a secure, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages children's participation and engagement.




- Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to educators and parents as necessary through Class Dojo
- Collaborate with other educators to develop curriculum materials and resources.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities
- Understand the expectations of your role as an enhanced educator

Skills

- Strong ability to educate and inspire children through engaging teaching methods.
- Prior experience working with children in a child care setting is essential.
- Background in early childhood education is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
- Cleanliness
- Ability to impliment various ISP strategies for individual children's needs
