We are seeking a dedicated and result-oriented Secondary English Tutor specializing in Academic Reading and Essay Writing. In this role, you will help secondary students (Grades 8–12) master school curriculum standards, sharpen critical thinking, and excel in academic writing. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in guiding students through various essay formats (persuasive, analytical, narrative, and research-based) and strengthening reading comprehension skills required for school success.

Duties

- Teach structural and advanced essay writing techniques, including thesis development, evidence integration, and coherent paragraph structuring.

- Guide secondary students in analyzing literary texts, articles, and complex reading materials to build critical reading comprehension skills.

- Align lesson plans with school curriculum requirements to support students in context with their academic assignments, exams, and project rubrics.

- Provide clear,



constructive feedback on drafts to refine editing, grammar, transitions, and vocabulary skills.

- Track individual student progress and communicate actionable insights with parents regarding academic growth.

Experience & Qualifications

- Proven experience in English tutoring or teaching with a focus on secondary school academic writing and literary analysis.

- In-depth understanding of standard school English curricula, essay formats, and rubric requirements.

- Exceptional command of English grammar, academic vocabulary, and essay editing techniques.

- Ability to break down complex writing processes into step-by-step strategies for students.

- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Literature, or a related field (preferred).

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
