Role Description This is a full-time remote Entry Level Grant Writer role.
The Grant
Writer will research funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other grant-making bodies that align with client needs and community goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting clear and compelling grant proposals, assisting with budgets and supporting documents, and tailoring applications to specific funder guidelines. The role also involves gathering data and background information from clients, maintaining organized records of deadlines and submissions, and collaborating with colleagues to refine messaging and strengthen proposals.
The Entry Level Grant
Writer will receive mentorship and training to develop core grant writing skills while contributing to projects that support community development and infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive content.
- Research abilities to identify funding opportunities, analyze eligibility requirements, and gather supporting data.
- Organizational and time management skills to track deadlines, manage multiple projects, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Basic understanding of budgeting or comfort working with numeric information for grant applications.
- Proficiency with common office and collaboration tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, online communication platforms).
- Ability to work independently in a remote workplace while engaging effectively with a distributed team.
- Interest in community development, public sector work, or nonprofit initiatives; prior volunteer or project experience is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (such as English, Communications, Public Administration, or Social Sciences) preferred but not strictly required.
