TERM: Contract from June 15, 2026 – November 20, 2026 (22 weeks)
Dokis First Nation is seeking a reliable individual to fulfil duties as the Lands & Resources Coordinator. This position works with Dokis First Nation policies and all pertinent Federal and Provincial legislation, regulations and guidelines. This position, under the Direction of the Executive Director and in Partnership with the Lands Administrator, will be responsible for the tasks outlined below.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the booking and maintenance of the community parks and trail system.
- Monitor inland lakes and tourism areas for unauthorized users.
- Issue permits and confirm possession of permits. (Fish/Game, Trails. etc.)
- Confirm payment of permits with the Dokis Finance Department.
- Maintain qualified and communal representation at regional meetings.
- Oversee any fieldwork being conducted that could affect Dokis’ interests or rights.
- Assist the Lands Administrator with field surveys, when required.
- Completing training in the use of field equipment, as required.
- Performing other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- Ontario or Canada Boater’s License.
- Physical ability to conduct extensive outdoor field work at times.
- Must have reliable access to a vehicle and ATV/UTV.
- Must have or be willing to acquire a Canadian Drone Pilot Certificate (Basic Operations or higher).
- Knowledge of Dokis Land base is mandatory.
- Must adhere to Dokis First Nation Employment, Oath of Confidentiality and Code of Ethics policies.
HOURS OF WORK
The normal hours of work for this position are Monday to Friday, from 8:30a.m. to 4:30 pm. The nature of this position is such that some overtime with notice may be required. This position follows the Dokis First Nation Employment Policy.
