- Preventative maintenance covering all production machinery and other capital equipment
- Supporting production and repair equipment when equipment breaks down
- Troubleshooting issues and resolve them as quickly as possible
- Keeping spare parts inventory needed to maintain machinery and equipment
- Helping with plant expansion and installation of new equipment.
- Maintaining safety standards in area of responsibility as well as provide direction towards plant-wide safety requirements
- Ensuring compliance with various government regulations including but not limited to Environmental, Health and Safety, Building Codes, TSSA and Electrical Codes.
- Responsible for repairs and maintenance for designated areas
- Regular check & inspection on food processing equipment in accordance with Health & Safety Procedures
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a regular basis; inspects belts; check fluid levels, replaces filter etc.
- Procuring proper parts as instructed
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Responsible for installing, dismantling, repairing, reassembling, and moving machinery in our food processing line
Position Requirements:
- Manufacturing facility background is an asset
- Must ensure that health and safety requirements are being met, housekeeping rules, legislation and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
- Plumbing, welding, millwright and electrical experience are assets
- Plumber or electrician is an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- University or College diploma with technical focus an asset
- 3 years related experience, preferably in food manufacturing industry.
