AdmissionPrep is a high-performance coaching company helping students take control of their post-secondary journey. We combine admissions expertise, goal-setting, and skill development to give students a competitive edge. As an Essay Editor on our team, you will play a pivotal role in a student's journey into post-secondary education by providing editing support for their university and scholarship applications.

The details:

- This is a contracted essay editing role where the hours may vary
- Pay is $20 per hour
- Hours will vary and will be based on the volume of essays we are receiving; however, we expect a minimum availability of 20 hours per week (including evenings and weekends) from September until February of 2027
- This role is designed for flexibility. You could do this role in addition to your full time role or on a schedule that works for you
- The role is remote, and you can be based anywhere in Canada




- We are also interested in hiring students who are currently pursuing a Master's Degree or PhD who either have prior experience in editing or have a degree in English/Communications
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Responsibilities:

- Review and edit university and scholarship applications for students by providing suggested edits to support the student's application
- Example editing includes resumes, cover letters, scholarship essays, and post-secondary school applications
- Understand the ins and outs of university and college-level essays and business writing
- Meet strict deadlines for essay revisions
- Provide consistent editing and feedback for students that also meets our internal KPI's

Qualifications:

- A bachelor's degree from a Canadian university (preferably in English, Communications, or a writing-related major)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A current Master's or PhD student is ideal
- Experience with application or essay editing in a prior role an asset
