Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for heavy civil construction projects managing full estimating lifecycle, from bid document review through submission and project close-out.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to determine scope and constructability.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing, particularly for electrical and other specialized scopes.
- Develop and write technical proposals and bid documentation to support project submissions.
- Support technical writing and communication required for bid packages and internal reviews.
- Analyze project schedules and understand impacts on cost and resources.
- Utilize scheduling knowledge, including familiarity with Primavera P6, to interpret construction timelines during estimating.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate cost assumptions and bid strategies.
- Participate in post-bid reviews and contribute to project close-out and lessons learned for future estimates.
- Leading project meetings and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

- Post secondary degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of combined experience in construction project management and estimating, preferably in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience estimating heavy civil or infrastructure construction projects .
- Demonstrated experience with construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, and bid preparation .
- Proficiency with HeavyBid estimating software is preferred.
- Understanding of construction schedules and Primavera P6 is an asset.




- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications .
- Strong technical writing and proposal development skills.
- Excellent communication and subcontractor coordination abilities.
- Knowledge of self-performed construction capabilities and subcontractor management .
