About the Role

Shopify's leaders move at startup speed while operating at scale. They're building the future of commerce, making decisions that impact millions of merchants, and context-switching across initiatives faster than most people change their calendar view. They need someone who doesn't just manage their time—they need someone who controls their attention.

This isn't a learning role. We're looking for folks who can partner from day one.

What you'll actually do

In this individual contributor role you'll be a true extension of your executive. You represent them in every interaction—every email, every meeting prep, every decision about what gets their attention. You'll think three steps ahead: are the meeting artifacts linked? Who's missing from this conversation? Does my executive have the context they need for their next meeting to be successful?

You'll manage where your executive focuses their attention, not just the time in their calendars. When dozens of priorities compete for focus, you'll know which deserves time now and which can wait. You'll prepare high-value interactions so your leader shows up informed and ready to make an impact.

You'll bring operational excellence and ingenuity. You'll operationalize visions,



coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and create structure in chaos—all without needing to be told how. You'll know when to work in real-time and when to work async, adapting seamlessly to your leader's rhythm.

You'll be a confident thought partner. You'll ask smart questions, earn trust quickly, and make every day run smoother so your leader can focus on what matters most.

Qualifications

- You've supported senior executives (VP/SVP at large tech companies, or President/CEO at smaller orgs) and understand what it means to be an extension of someone

- You're meticulous to the point of obsession—you notice patterns, you catch details others miss, and you can't unsee when something's out of place

- You crave intensity and fast-paced environments—you don't just tolerate chaos, you thrive in it

- You show up with confidence and self-assuredness—you don't second-guess yourself; you ask the right questions, and you earn trust quickly

- You're energized by high standards and see feedback as a gift

- You're endlessly curious about and experiment with current automations and new technologies to get shit done
