This position requires proven ICI (industrial, commercial and institutional) roofing experience. Applicants whose roofing experience is primarily residential, or whose experience is in general construction rather than commercial roofing, will not be considered. Residential shingle roofing does not qualify as relevant experience for this position.

Role Overview The Experienced Commercial Roofer / Roofing Technician is a skilled, hands-on member of Stybek's field team responsible for completing commercial flat roofing work across both service and production projects.

This role includes leak investigations, repairs, preventative maintenance, coatings, reroofing and new roofing installations on industrial, commercial and institutional buildings.

The Roofing Technician works under the direction of a Foreman and is expected to have the commercial roofing experience necessary to contribute productively with limited instruction. This is not an entry-level roofing position.

Depending on operational requirements, team members may work on service assignments, larger production projects,



or a combination of both. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between different types of commercial roofing work and job sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform commercial roofing work on service, reroofing and new construction projects
- Complete leak investigations, repairs, preventative maintenance and coatings
- Install and repair commercial flat roofing systems including single-ply membranes, torch-applied and cold-applied modified bitumen, and BUR
- Identify roofing deficiencies and assist with determining appropriate repair solutions
- Work efficiently as part of a commercial roofing crew under the direction of the Foreman
- Follow scopes of work, manufacturer requirements and Stybek quality standards
- Follow all company safety procedures and site-specific requirements
- Properly use required PPE and fall protection equipment
- Load, unload and organize roofing materials, tools and equipment
- Maintain tools, equipment and clean, organized work areas
- Document completed work, materials used, site conditions and photos using company software when required
- Communicate effectively with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers and other team members
- Contribute to a professional, dependable and team-focused work environment





Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial flat roofing experience
- Proven experience working in ICI roofing environments
- Hands-on experience with commercial flat roofing systems including single-ply membranes, modified bitumen and BUR
- Experience with both commercial roof repairs and roofing installations
- Understanding of commercial roofing installation methods, details and safety requirements
- Ability to work effectively as part of an experienced roofing crew
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong work ethic, reliability and consistent attendance
- Ability to perform physically demanding roofing work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working at heights and following fall protection requirements
- Valid Working at Heights certification
- Valid driver's licence

Residential shingle roofing, general construction or general labour experience alone does not meet the experience requirements for this position.
