Experienced Garage Door Repair Technician – Casual Subcontractor

Calgary Repairs is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Garage Door Repair Technician to add to our network of trusted subcontractors.

This is casual subcontractor work on a project-by-project basis. It is not a full-time or part-time employee position, and there are no guaranteed hours. As garage door projects come in, we'll reach out to see if you're available and interested in taking the job.

This could be a great fit for an experienced garage door technician who is self-employed, operates their own small business, or already has regular work and is looking to pick up additional projects when their schedule allows.

We're looking for someone who knows garage doors inside and out — not simply someone who can install a new opener. We need an experienced technician who can properly diagnose and repair a wide range of residential garage door problems.

Typical Projects

- Garage doors that won't open or close properly
- Broken or damaged springs
- Garage door opener troubleshooting and repair
- Garage door opener installation and replacement
- Broken or frayed cables
- Roller replacement
- Track repairs and adjustments
- Doors that have come off their tracks
- Bent or damaged tracks
- Hinge and hardware replacement
- Garage door panel repairs and replacement
- Sensor troubleshooting and replacement
- Remote and keypad issues
- Noisy or poorly operating garage doors
- Weather stripping and bottom seal replacement
- Door balancing and alignment
- Preventative maintenance and adjustments




- General garage door troubleshooting and repair

What We're Looking For

- Strong hands-on experience repairing residential garage doors
- Ability to diagnose a wide variety of garage door problems
- Experience working with different garage door and opener brands
- Comfortable repairing springs, cables, rollers, tracks, openers and related components
- Ability to determine whether a component can be repaired or should be replaced
- Professional, reliable and customer-focused
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Own tools and reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Valuable communication skills
- Comfortable working independently
- Liability insurance and WCB coverage are assets

How It Works Calgary Repairs handles the marketing, customer inquiries and coordination. When we receive a garage door project that fits your skill set, we'll contact you with the details and see if you're interested and available.

You are free to accept or decline projects based on your availability. There is no set schedule, no minimum number of jobs you need to take, and no guaranteed volume of work.

We also do not charge our contractors subscription fees,



membership fees or fees to receive leads. Our goal is to build mutually beneficial relationships with skilled local tradespeople — we bring in the customers and coordinate the work, and you provide great service and workmanship.

Calgary Repairs is extremely customer-focused, so the contractors we work with are an important part of our reputation. We're looking for someone who communicates well, shows up when they say they will, treats customers and their homes with respect, and stands behind the quality of their work.

Ultimately, we're looking to develop a long-term relationship with a reliable garage door specialist we can confidently send projects to as they come in.

Compensation

Compensation is on a subcontractor/project basis and will depend on the scope of the work.

Rates and pricing structure can be discussed before working together.
