About the position:

McMan’s Family Intervention Program is looking for a dedicated and experienced Family Preservation Worker to join our team. If you have a robust understanding of family dynamics, addiction, domestic violence, developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and complex behaviors, and are passionate about helping families thrive, we encourage you to apply. In this rewarding role, you will empower families with the support, skills, and resources they need to build resilience and succeed within their communities.

You will provide individual and group interventions, coordinate services and activities, manage cases, and work collaboratively with youth and families to achieve meaningful, lasting outcomes.

Hours: 40 Hours per Week (Includes occasional weekends and evenings as needed)

Location: Edmonton, Alberta.

What you’ll do

· Develop effective working relationships with families and the community

· Develop strong partnerships with a multi-disciplinary team

· Provide non-clinical counseling and mediation

· Create comprehensive reports using Microsoft Office programs

· Foster open-mindedness and maintain healthy, supportive relationships.

· Provide crisis management support as needed.

· Offer support and guidance to youth and families

· Support competency skill development for all members of the family

· Design and implement effective interventions for children, youth, and families.

· Fulfill on-call and frontline responsibilities as required.

What you bring

· Completion of Degree or Diploma in the Human Services field





· Please note that applicants with a degree or diploma in Social Work from a university accredited by the Alberta College of Social Workers are required to be registered with the College (RSW) before starting, or obtain registration within three months of hire.

· Two (2) years of directly related experience working with Families

· Equivalencies may be considered.

· Police Information Check; including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months)

· Children Services Intervention Record Check (from within the last 6 months)

· Strong counseling, mediation, crisis intervention, program planning, leadership and communication skills

· Strong assessment and intervention skills; ability to work collaboratively in a rapid-paced environment

· Strong strength-based and problem-solving skills

· Knowledge of family dynamics, addiction, domestic violence, mental health disorders and complex behaviors

· Excellent knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act

· An understanding of Collaborative Service Delivery and Signs of Safety are an asset

· Emergency First Aid—Level C CPR + AED.

· A minimum of three years’ driving experience with a valid Class 5 driver’s license, current driver’s abstract, and comfort with driving to various locations are required. Having a reliable vehicle and auto insurance ($2 Million) are required.

· CARE training

· Computer/Word processing skills.
