Overview

Beech Hill Farm is a dairy farm in Princeport, Nova Scotia milking 250 cows with five delaval robots. We are looking for an individual who can be part of a team for cropping, and also work independently.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on farm machinery including tractors, self propelled harvester, skidsteer, milking robots and alley scrapers.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, tractors, and other machinery safely and efficiently across various farm sites.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and your mechanical knowledge to identify root causes quickly.
- Conduct welding, assembly, and electrical repairs on farm equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and equipment condition reports.
- Assist with barn improvement projects
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques safely to complete repair tasks with precision.

Requirements





- Proven mechanic experience with farm machinery or industrial equipment; experience is highly desirable.
- Robust knowledge of repair principles along with electrical systems troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for assembly and repair procedures.
- Skilled in welding techniques and mechanical assembly processes.
- Comfortable performing heavy lifting safely in outdoor or farm environments.
- Excellent people skills for working with team members and supporting operational needs.

This position is equipment focused, but the perfect individual would also be competent with basic animal husbandry and have a positive attitude around doing any work that needs to be done to keep the farm running smoothly. Pay dependent on skills and experience.

Pay: $23.30-$30.00 per hour
