FINANCE COORDINATOR – TERM

As our Finance Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing and supporting PTL's financial operations while working closely with management and other departments across the organization.
Compensation, Hours & Work Location
- Compensation: $32.00–$38.00 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Position Type: Full-time, 3-month term
- Work Location: In-office position
- Transportation: Public transit/bus service is not available to our location. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be able to commute to and from the workplace.
Term Position with Potential for Permanent Employment This is a 3-month term position with the potential to transition into permanent employment based on business needs, performance and overall fit.
Upon transition to permanent employment, the position will be upgraded to a salaried role with benefits, paid time off, providing an opportunity for long-term growth and stability with PTL.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and coordinate all financial systems, including ADP, ServiceBox and QuickBooks, and PTL financial processes, including general ledgers, internal accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable, statutory remittances, budget monitoring and other financial systems and processes as required.
- Monitor and record all cash disbursements, expenditures and receipts for PTL, ensuring timely, effective and accurate record keeping.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures and workflows.
- Manage vehicle assets, including processing bills of sale and lease agreements.
- Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements,
ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, procedures and internal controls.
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reporting for management.
- Responsible for the accumulation, review and completion of all monthly and annual financial reporting packages.
- Manage the budget and cash flow process.
- Assist in the preparation and review of long-term forecasts and financial models.
- Assess current accounting operations, provide recommendations for improvement and implement new processes.
- Responsible for regulatory reporting and compliance, including GST returns, WCB and other applicable requirements.
- Coordinate activities related to government audits, GST and WCB, and assist with corporate tax audits.
- Perform banking tasks, including maintaining wire templates, recurring transfers and bill payment vendors, and processing wires and bill payments.
- Perform standard and ad hoc financial analyses to support management decision-making.
- Complete job cost tracking to identify the most profitable opportunities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma in bookkeeping, accounting, finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and financial risk management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team-oriented team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience managing financial operations, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Education and experience will be considered when determining compensation.
Pay: $32.00-$38.00 per hour
