Be part of the team delivering Ontario's cultural funding programs
Use your financial administration, analytical, and coordination skills to support the delivery of funding programs for Ontario's culture sector. You'll help manage grant administration processes, oversee financial activities, and contribute to effective program delivery.
About the job
As part of the Culture Grants Unit, you'll support the financial and administrative activities that help deliver provincial funding programs. You'll coordinate a range of program, financial and reporting processes, collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, and help ensure funding programs are administered effectively and in compliance with government policies and procedures. In this role, you will:
- support the administration of transfer payment programs throughout the funding lifecycle
- monitor funding allocations, expenditures and payment activity
- prepare financial analyses, reports and briefing materials for management decision-making
- review and track funding applications and supporting documentation
- coordinate payment processes and reconcile financial information across multiple systems
- provide advice and support on financial policies, transfer payment requirements and financial administrative procedures
- support procurement, contract management and transfer payment agreement administration
- provide guidance to staff and managers on financial policies, compliance, and risk management
- contribute to process improvements, reporting tools and program modernization initiatives
What you bring to the team
Financial administration and transfer payment knowledge
You have knowledge of:
- financial and accounting practices, including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure monitoring and financial reporting
- transfer payment administration, expenditure tracking, reconciliation activities, and risk and variance analysis
- procurement and contract management principles and processes
Analytical and problem-solving skills
You have:
- analytical skills to review financial information, interpret data, identify issues, assess risks and support decision-making
- the ability to interpret policies, directives and procedures and apply them consistently
- attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, reports and transactions
Organizational and systems skills
You have:
- organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet concurrent deadlines
- experience coordinating data and activities from multiple sources
- experience using financial, database or information management systems to maintain records, monitor activities and generate reports
Communication and collaboration skills
You have:
- interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, managers and external stakeholders
- oral communication skills to provide recommendations, respond to inquiries, and explain processes and requirements
- written communication skills to prepare reports, correspondence and briefing materials
