About the Role:

The Fish Clerk (Part-time) plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Fish Department at Olive Branch by providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of product quality and presentation. This position involves assisting customers with their fish selections, offering knowledgeable advice on product types, preparation methods, and storage.

The Fish

Clerk is responsible for the proper handling, cleaning, and packaging of fish products to ensure freshness and safety. Additionally, the role requires maintaining inventory levels, restocking displays, and adhering to all Kosher and health and safety regulations. Ultimately, the Fish Clerk contributes to a positive shopping experience that encourages customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Previous experience working in a fish or grocery retail workplace is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of fish types, handling, and storage practices.
- Ability to work part-time hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively assist and educate customers.




- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and cleaning.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification in food safety or handling (e.g., Food Handler Certification).
- Familiarity with Canadian food safety regulations related to seafood.
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base.
- Previous experience in customer service roles within a retail environment.

Responsibilities:

- Greet and assist customers in selecting fresh fish products, providing detailed information about varieties, origins, and preparation tips.
- Clean, cut, and prepare fish and seafood according to company standards and customer requests, ensuring product quality and safety.
- Maintain attractive and organized seafood displays, restocking items as needed to ensure availability and freshness.
- Monitor inventory levels, receive deliveries, and properly store products to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
- Work with in-house Mashgiach and adhere strictly to all Kosher, food safety, sanitation, and health regulations to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
