Freelance Video Editor & Videographer — Part-Time

Location: Oakville / GTA

Job Type: Freelance, Part time / Hourly

Schedule: Flexible, with weekday availability between 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Compensation: Fixed weekly rate based on deliverables + in-person shoot day

About the Role

We are looking for a creative, reliable, and passionate Freelance Video Editor & Videographer to work alongside me creating high-quality social media content for clients in the fitness, supplement, wellness, and beauty industries.

This is a part-time freelance position that would be a great fit for someone who enjoys both filming and editing and understands how to create content that is engaging, visually polished, and designed for social media.

The role will initially involve approximately 6–7 short-form video edits per week, along with one in-person client shoot per week (approximately 3–4 hours). Editing can be completed remotely, but you must be available during weekday business hours (9 AM–6 PM) for client deliverables and communication.

Many of our clients and shoots are based in Oakville, so reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

- Film high-quality social media content for gyms, supplement brands, beauty spas, and other lifestyle/wellness clients
- Edit engaging short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms
- Edit primarily using DaVinci Resolve
- Assist with creative direction and come up with content ideas during client shoots
- Eventually attend and manage client shoots independently
- Help clients feel comfortable on camera and guide them through content creation when needed
- Understand pacing, storytelling, hooks, transitions, music, captions, and other elements that make social content engaging
- Maintain a consistent,

professional visual style across different clients and brands
- Communicate reliably and meet agreed-upon deadlines
- Organize and manage footage and project files efficiently

What We're Looking For You do not need formal schooling or a degree in film, video production, or a related field. We're much more interested in your portfolio, creativity, technical ability, and passion for the craft.

The ideal candidate

- Has professional or strong personal experience with video editing
- Is experienced with DaVinci Resolve
- Has a strong understanding of short-form social media content
- Has a good eye for composition, lighting, pacing, and storytelling
- Can take raw footage and turn it into content that feels polished and engaging
- Is comfortable filming with a camera and working with clients
- Is confident communicating in English
- Is creative and able to contribute ideas rather than simply follow instructions
- Is reliable, organized, and able to work independently
- Has a strong interest in filmmaking, content creation, or visual storytelling
- Has reliable transportation and a valid driver's licence
- Is available for at least one weekday shoot per week, typically 3–4 hours

Equipment Having your own camera and production gear is preferred but not required.

We particularly prefer candidates who shoot on Sony cameras,

although we are open to other camera systems if you have strong work to show.

Schedule & Workload

This is a part-time freelance position with a flexible schedule.

The expected workload will be approximately:

- 6–7 short-form video edits per week
- 1 in-person client shoot per week, approximately 3–4 hours
- Availability for communication, revisions, and deliverables between 9:00 AM–6:00 PM on weekdays
- Editing can be completed remotely

The role may grow over time for the right person, with opportunities to take on more responsibility and eventually attend client shoots independently.

Compensation

Compensation will likely be structured as a fixed weekly rate based on approximately 6–7 short-form edits plus one in-person shoot day per week.

Rate will be discussed based on experience, portfolio, equipment, and expected workload.

How to Apply

- Portfolio, demo reel, or examples of your editing/filming work
- A brief description of your experience with DaVinci Resolve
- Your weekly availability, including which weekdays you are available between 9 AM–6 PM

We're looking for someone who genuinely loves creating content, understands the craft, and wants to grow alongside a small creative business. You will primarily be working alongside/reporting to myself Saif (SaifsLens on IG)
