We are seeking a detail-oriented French Editor to join a agile marketing team. In this role, you will review, edit, and proofread marketing content across digital platforms, including websites, mobile apps, and online banking systems. Operating within an Agile marketing framework, you will help maintain French editorial standards, optimize copy, and collaborate with external translation agencies.

This is a contract position requiring a self-motivated professional with experience in translation, editing, and digital content management. You will work onsite at our client's office in downtown Toronto 1 day per week.

As a French Editor, you will ensure the accuracy, consistency, tone, and grammatical precision of English-to-French marketing content. You will contribute to French editorial processes, create and maintain editorial standards, and leverage SEO and accessibility best practices to ensure inclusive, high-traffic digital copy. You will also manage external translation requests and occasionally translate content directly.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate external translation agency workflows and manage translation requests in a timely, cost-effective manner.
- Review, edit, and proofread English-to-French digital marketing content for accuracy, tone, typography, and grammar.
- Translate copy and spoken or written materials between languages while maintaining brand voice and cultural relevance.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of French editorial standards,



aligning content with official OQLF guidelines and internal best practices.
- Apply SEO tactics and accessibility standards to digital content to drive traffic and maintain inclusive user experiences.
- Proactively resolve ambiguities in fast-paced Agile project environments while managing multiple tight deadlines.

Requirements

- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or equivalent work experience; 5–7 years of related translation and editing experience preferred.
- Language Proficiency: Native-level proficiency in French paired with strong English composition and terminology research skills.
- Software & Tools: Experience with translation software (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, Antidote), terminology databases (e.g., Termium), and OQLF standards.
- Key Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and a solid understanding of French-Canadian linguistic nuances.
