Eternal Abundance is a small, do-good, all organic, vegan market & eatery on Commercial Drive. Our goal is to uphold and inspire a commitment to sustainable and compassionate living. We offer a welcoming community space for exploring healthy eating and conscious consumption.

We are looking to hire someone dedicated, long-term (at least 6 months commitment) to join our front of house team as a produce clerk/cashier. Join our fun, health-loving, hardworking team to serve up some of the city's healthiest vegan and organic food!

Schedule:

5 shifts per week. Shifts are either 9am - 4pm or 2:30pm - close (approx 9pm but can end earlier or later depending on how busy the day was).

The candidate will work a combination of both shifts.

Candidate must have a flexible schedule and it is mandatory they work weekends.

Please note: There is no set schedule. We have a team of about 15 people, many of which are in school, take vacations, call in sick sometimes, and as such, the schedule is always changing. The candidate needs to have flexible availability and understand they will not have the same shifts week to week. The schedule is posted 2-3 weeks in advance to help staff better plan activities outside of work.

Duties:

Morning shifts:

From 9am-10:30am you focus on the produce station. You'll soak, trim and prepare as many produce items as possible and make the store look acceptably stocked before we open at 10am. You'll receive and put away the produce order.

From 9:30am-11:45am, you'll focus on cashier duties. You'll set up the tills and eatery area, warmly greet all customers and help serve them by ringing their grocery and eatery orders through our POS. Must have cash handling experience and be able to memorize produce codes.

You'll answer phones,



accept delivery orders and give exceptional customer service. At 11:45am, you'll return to focusing on produce for the remainder of the day, where you'll continue to stock and place the next day's produce order. Other duties include general cleaning like sweeping, mopping, taking out compost and boxes, cleaning the bathroom, etc..

There's lots of multi-tasking involved with this position. You need an eye for detail, must be exceptional at organizing, be tidy, have a hustle mentality and a willingness to help your fellow cashier team when they're busy.

Evening shifts:

Same cashier duties with a little bit of retail stocking. Includes cashing out at the end of the night and helping the team close down all the stations so everyone can leave together.

Requirements:

- Valid work visa
- Fluent in English
- Adaptable schedule with consistent weekend availability
- Stocking and/or cashier experience
- Cash handling experience
- Must be able to lift heavy boxes (up to 50lbs)
- Good communication skills
- Fast paced
- Detail oriented
- Able to prioritize, focus and work with minimal supervision
- Able to stay calm under pressure
- Positive attitude
