Senior Front-End Developer / Team Lead

Location: Toronto, ON – 81 Bay Street

Contract: 6 months, with potential for extension and FTE conversion

Start Date: September 7, 2026

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, 37.5 hours/week

Work Model: Hybrid – Wednesday and every third Friday in office

About the Opportunity A major Canadian bank is looking for a Senior Front-End Developer / Team Lead to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise-scale digital banking applications.

This is a hands-on senior-level opportunity where you’ll contribute to front-end architecture, development, technical design, code reviews, and release activities , while also mentoring developers and helping drive technical initiatives independently.

You’ll work alongside Front-End Developers, Chapter Leads, Senior Developers, Product Teams, Application Consultants, Technical Stakeholders, and Digital Delivery Teams within a 40+ member digital development environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise web applications.
- Lead and contribute to front-end development initiatives using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Build responsive, accessible, and scalable web experiences.
- Participate in technical design discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with backend and native application teams on integrations.
- Support feature development, application enhancements, releases, and deployments.
- Mentor developers and promote engineering best practices.
- Drive development initiatives independently with minimal supervision.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development standards and processes.

Must-Have Skills





- 5+ years of front-end web development experience
- Strong JavaScript development experience
- Strong HTML5 and CSS/SCSS
- Experience with Vue.js or comparable modern front-end frameworks; React is highly transferable
- Experience with state management libraries such as Pinia, Vuex, Redux , or similar
- Git/GitHub and modern development workflows
- Experience with Node.js packages and front-end build tooling
- Strong experience building responsive web applications
- Strong understanding of web accessibility standards
- Experience with release management and deployment
- Ability to work independently at a senior level with minimal ramp-up
- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Pinia
- Mobile, hybrid mobile, or native application development
- REST APIs and JSON integrations
- Unit testing and UI automation testing
- Banking or financial services experience
- Team lead or mentorship experience
