The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Full Time Art Therapist. This role is a vital part of our Addictions and Mental Health program, supporting individuals with addictions and mental health issues through a strengths-based approach. You are part of a team-oriented team that supports clients by providing individual and group Art Therapy sessions as part of the clients’ individualized support plans. You work across various programs in the department, including outpatient counselling, withdrawal management and residential treatment, and crisis services. You work closely with other clinicians and counsellors to provide clinical therapeutic interventions and collaborate with partners to support client recovery.

What You’ll Do

- Respond to client needs by providing individual and/or group art therapy
- Collaborate with the Addictions and Mental Health Primary Clinician and the client to incorporate goals specific to Art Therapy within strength-based support plans




- Create and facilitate art-based activities to staff to increase knowledge of art therapy
- Provide art-based activities at community events to promote Agency and treatment modality

What You’ll Bring

- Have graduated from an Art Therapy Program recognized by the Ontario Association of Art Therapy
- Provide proof of current registration in good standing with a governing body such as the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSW/SSW), etc.
- Have a minimum of two years’ combined student placement and/or paid experience in providing Art Therapy clinically or in a group setting
- Be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases
- Have access to reliable transportation
- Be able to manage frequent exposure to vicarious trauma
