We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and self-regulated Full-Time Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) to join our growing team.
Position Overview
As a key member of our clinical team, you will work closely with our dentists and hygienists to ensure seamless patient care, maintain infection control protocols, and support efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Assist dentists chairside with various procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment prior to patient arrival.
- Take diagnostic, digital radiographs (X-rays) as directed.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient dental charts and clinical notes using practice management software (Tracker).
Safety, Sterilization & Compliance
- Strictly adhere to provincial dental college guidelines, RCDSO applicable provincial standards, and universal precautions.
- Operate sterilization equipment (autoclaves), perform biological monitoring, and maintain instrument reprocessing logs.
Required Skill Sets & Qualifications Education & Certification
- Graduation from an accredited Level II/Level II Dental Assisting program.
- Current Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)
- Valid CPR certification (BLS).
- Valid certification in Dental Radiography (HARP).
Technical & Clinical Skills
- Proficiency in chairside four-handed dentistry (Periodontic and Endodontic chairside experience is an asset, however not required)
- Familiarity with digital radiography and modern dental practice management software.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention and control (IPAC) protocols.
Qualified Competencies
- Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Ability to build rapport quickly with patients of all ages and communicate effectively with team members.
- Time Management & Organization: Exceptional ability to multitask, anticipate clinical needs, and keep a busy schedule running smoothly.
- Attention to Detail: High precision in record-keeping, instrument processing, and clinical setup.
