Fundraising Coordinator Intern
Regional Food Distribution Association is looking for a agile Fundraising Coordinator Intern to join our team. If you want to be mentored and be part of a dedicated team while making a difference in peoples’ lives, this position is for you!
RFDA secures and distributes emergency food to meet the needs of Northwestern Ontario by developing and coordinating for the delivery of food donated to community organizations and northern communities for those with food shortages.
We require an outgoing person with a desire for fundraising and relationship building.
Key duties:
· Engage face‑to‑face with members of the public on behalf of the RFDA in a variety of community settings.
· Build rapport and tell compelling stories that highlight the RFDA’s mission, impact, and the importance of food security across Northwestern Ontario.
· Promote and advocate for the RFDA’s work, ensuring the public understands how their support contributes to meaningful community outcomes.
· Provide clear, detailed information about the RFDA’s goals, programs, and regional initiatives.
· Participate in training sessions to strengthen fundraising techniques, communication skills, and knowledge of RFDA programs.
· Generate and execute new and innovating fundraising campaigns
· Maintain accurate records of interactions, donor information, and fundraising results.
· Collaborate with RFDA staff and volunteers to meet fundraising targets and support broader community engagement strategies.
· Utilize diverse fundraising methods, including:
· Neighborhood canvassing
· Business‑to‑business outreach
· Public kiosks and information tables
· Street fundraising
· Engagement at local events and community gatherings
· Media outreach and communication pieces The candidate will possess:
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable speaking with diverse members of the public.
· Ability to tell stories, convey impact, and build trust quickly.
· Presentation and public speaking skills
· Positive, energetic, and self‑motivated with a genuine interest in community work.
· Ability to work in various public settings.
· Organized, reliable, and able to maintain accurate records.
· Previous fundraising or customer‑facing experience is an asset but not required.
This is a one-year position, 35 hours per week, $40,000 per year.
