United Canada Furniture is looking for a motivated, professional, and customer-focused Furniture Sales Consultant to join our growing showroom team.
Over the past year, United Canada has expanded significantly. We now operate from a larger showroom, have a stronger presence in the furniture market, and represent a growing portfolio of respected furniture manufacturers.
Our collections include products from leading brands such as Canadel, EQ3, Trica, Amisco, Decor-Rest, Palliser, LG, Durham Furniture, and Handstone, along with other high-quality and customizable furniture collections.
A significant portion of our customers prefer to communicate in Mandarin, including customers who may have limited English proficiency. For this reason, professional spoken Mandarin is required for this position.
This is a sales-focused role for someone who enjoys working with customers, has an interest in furniture and interior design.
The Role
As a Furniture Sales Consultant, you will help customers select furniture for individual rooms or complete homes.
You will guide customers through product styles, room dimensions, configurations, fabrics, finishes, colours, customization options, pricing, warranties, and delivery timelines.
Many of our customers require assistance throughout the full purchasing process in Mandarin. The successful candidate must be able to communicate patiently, clearly, and professionally in both Mandarin and English.
Responsibilities
- Welcome showroom customers and provide a professional and personalized experience.
- Assist Mandarin-speaking customers throughout the consultation, quotation, ordering, and follow-up process.
- Understand each customer’s style, room dimensions, lifestyle, budget, and delivery requirements.
- Recommend suitable sofas, sectionals, dining furniture, bedroom furniture, occasional pieces, fabrics, finishes, and configurations.
- Present collections from brands including Canadel, Trica, Amisco, Decor-Rest, LG, Durham Furniture, Palliser, EQ3, and Handstone.
- Explain product quality, construction, customization options, warranties,
promotions, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Prepare accurate quotations for individual products, complete rooms, and full-home furniture packages.
- Follow up consistently with showroom visitors, quotations, website inquiries, social media leads, and previous customers.
- Communicate with customers by telephone, text, WeChat, email, and other relevant channels.
- Maintain organized customer records, order details, quotations, and follow-up schedules.
- Accurately process customized orders, deposits, payments, and customer information.
- Work closely with management, administration, manufacturers, and the delivery team.
- Help maintain an organized, polished, and welcoming showroom.
- Work toward individual and showroom sales targets.
Language Requirements
- Professional spoken Mandarin is required.
- The candidate must be able to conduct a complete furniture consultation and sales transaction in Mandarin.
- Mandarin reading and writing skills are strongly preferred, particularly for text and WeChat communication.
- Professional working English is required for internal communication, order documentation, and communication with manufacturers.
- Cantonese is a strong additional asset.
- Persian or Farsi is an additional asset but is not required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in furniture sales, interior design, retail sales, appliances, kitchens, mattresses, automotive sales, real estate, or another customer-focused sales environment is preferred.
- Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence discussing pricing and asking customers for the sale.
- Strong follow-up habits and the ability to manage multiple active customers.
- Patience when assisting customers who require additional explanation or guidance.
- Interest in furniture, home décor, colours, fabrics, finishes, and room layouts.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when preparing customized furniture orders.
- Ability to explain product value and quality rather than relying only on discounts.
- Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
- Comfortable using telephone, text, WeChat, email, and social media to communicate with customers.
- Available to work weekends and showroom hours.
Furniture experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates with strong sales ability and experience in another customer-facing industry.
Compensation
- Base compensation plus commission.
- Total earnings are primarily tied to individual sales performance.
- Additional performance incentives may be available based on sales results and company targets.
- The compensation structure will be explained during the interview process.
