About the role:
Skilled Trades College (STC) is seeking an instructor for our G3 Technician Program. In this role you will be responsible for delivering course curriculum and supporting the students with questions throughout the course. The instructor is responsible for providing top of industry training and ultimately equipping students with the knowledge they require to become successful industry professionals and fully qualified in accordance with TSSA guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
· Delivery of the course curriculum in a relatable, supportive and informative manner – training the students to be the type of professional you would like to work with
· Ensure proper tracking of attendance, absences and late arrivals through our internal system
· Promote safe work and ensure proper working order of all equipment prior to utilizing it
· Maintain high industry training standards as per the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security (MCURES)
· Provide, monitor and supervise the writing of exams, quizzes and completion of course work
· Discuss underperforming students with the registrar and student services team to ensure compliance with policy and potential corrective action
· Provide additional support for students who require extra help with course content by arranging mutually agreed upon time before or after class
· Record and maintain inventory stock and materials/supplies – submit orders as required
· Come to class with a positive, professional attitude and ready to inspire
· Maintain and manage the cleanliness of the lab and promote safe behaviours
· Assist in developing new labs and improving the roll-out of current labs
· Ensure all students are wearing required PPE’s
· Adherence to the delivery frameworks set out by TSSA Accredited Training Providers
Qualifications:
· Minimum G2 Gas technician license (G1 preferred)
· 5+ years of industry experience in gas servicing, installation or heating
· Expert knowledge of both the and
· High attention to detail and safety-first mindset
· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
