Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced GCP DevOps Platform Engineer to support the design, deployment, and operational readiness of secure Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) environments. This role focuses on building hardened operating system images, managing platform deployment pipelines, maintaining baseline configurations, and supporting software delivery into isolated or air-gapped environments. The ideal candidate will have strong DevOps, cloud infrastructure, automation, and system engineering expertise, with experience in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Build, customize, and maintain hardened OS images and baseline configurations for sandbox, test, and production environments.
- Design, implement, and manage GitOps-driven deployment pipelines to support application and infrastructure promotion across Test, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
- Develop and automate CI/CD processes for software packaging, validation, and deployment into Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) enclaves.
- Manage software ingestion workflows, ensuring artifacts are validated, secured, and compliant before deployment.
- Configure and maintain platform infrastructure, system baselines, and deployment automation tools.
- Validate operating system configurations, image baselines, network assumptions, and deployment evidence to support interoperability and testing activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams to ensure platform readiness and operational stability.
- Monitor platform health, troubleshoot deployment issues, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.




- Support configuration management, compliance reviews, audit requirements, and operational documentation.
- Contribute to platform hardening, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices within isolated environments.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or System Administration roles.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Google Distributed Cloud (GDC).
- Strong expertise in Linux administration, OS imaging, system hardening, and configuration management.
- Experience designing and managing CI/CD and GitOps workflows using tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Jenkins, or similar.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
- Experience working in disconnected, air-gapped, or highly secured deployment environments.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security controls, and system integration practices.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Solid troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) deployments and operations.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes container platforms and cloud-native technologies.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, compliance frameworks, and security hardening standards.
- Experience supporting interoperability testing, certification activities, or regulated environments.
- Relevant certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certifications (CKA/CKAD), Linux Certifications, or Terraform Associate.
