Full-Time | Monday to Friday, with some Saturday availability
Everything Automotive is looking for a reliable, hardworking General Automotive Service Technician / Oil Spray Technician to join our team.
This is a hands-on shop position focused on routine automotive service work including oil changes, rustproofing/oil spray, tire changes and other general shop duties. This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys working on vehicles and wants steady, full-time work in a busy automotive environment.
This position does not require you to quote repairs or deal with customers at the front counter. Your focus will be working on vehicles in the shop.
Responsibilities
- Perform engine oil and filter changes
- Perform vehicle rustproofing / oil spray applications
- Seasonal tire swaps and rotations
- Mount and balance tires when required
- Check and adjust tire pressures
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and service work
- Replace basic service items such as wiper blades, bulbs and batteries when required
- Assist licensed technicians with repairs and shop work as needed
- Move vehicles in and out of the shop
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Keep tools and equipment clean and in positive working condition
- Follow all shop safety procedures
- Report any additional vehicle concerns noticed while performing service
- Help with general shop duties during slower periods
What We Are Looking For
- Automotive service or mechanical experience is preferred
- Experience performing oil changes and tire service is an asset
- Oil spray / rustproofing experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person
- Comfortable working underneath vehicles and using hoists
- Able to safely operate basic automotive tools and equipment
- Physically capable of lifting tires and performing hands-on shop work
- Valid driver's licence
- Dependable and punctual
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail
- Takes pride in doing the job properly
A mechanic's licence is not required for this position.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Some Saturday mornings may be required
Compensation $18 to $20 per hour, depending on experience
