Rosebud Feeders is currently seeking a dependable, and hardworking individual for a General Feedlot Barn position. This role involves the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the feedlot, equipment, farm facilities, and cattle handling areas to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.

The successful applicant should be comfortable operating a variety of farm and feedlot equipment and assisting in the barn with cattle handling and general livestock duties when required. Robust attention to detail and a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities are important for this position.

Responsibilities

- Clean and maintain feed bunks, pens, alleyways, and other feedlot areas.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on fences, gates, waterers, buildings, and other feedlot infrastructure.
- Assist with manure removal, bedding management, and general pen maintenance.
- Assist with barn and cattle-handling duties as required, including moving and sorting cattle, processing cattle, maintaining cattle-handling areas, and helping the barn crew with day-to-day livestock operations.
- Assist with maintaining and cleaning the barn, processing areas, chutes, alleys, and cattle-handling facilities.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Assist with servicing and maintaining equipment, including greasing, checking fluids, filters, tires, and identifying potential mechanical issues.
- Keep equipment, shops, barns,



work areas, and the surrounding feedlot clean and organized.
- Identify maintenance, livestock, equipment, or safety concerns and report issues promptly.
- Assist with other general farm and feedlot duties as required.
- Follow all company safety procedures and safe livestock-handling and equipment-operating practices.

Requirements

- Valid driver’s licence.
- Previous experience operating tractors, skid steers, wheel loaders, or other agricultural/heavy equipment is preferred.
- Previous cattle handling, feedlot, ranch, or livestock experience.
- Comfortable and confident working around cattle and assisting with cattle handling when needed.
- Ability to perform physical labour and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Willing and able to move between maintenance, equipment operation, barn work, and other duties depending on the needs of the feedlot.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in properly maintaining equipment and facilities.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Accommodation A three-bedroom bunkhouse is available to the successful applicant, providing an on-site housing option if required. Wage: Based on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
