Principal Storage Engineer

ThePrincipal Engineer partners withbusiness line representatives and technical teams to drive improved technology solutions that support business strategy with an enterprise view. ThePrincipal Engineeralso develops technical roadmaps and strategies, proposals, and is accountable for research and development, and represents the Bank on external industry groups. OverseestheStorage and/or Backup EngineeringPlatformsensuringbusiness strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered incompliance with governing regulations,security requirements,internal policies, and procedures.

ThePrincipal Engineeris a trusted advisor to Senior Management on project teams andScotiaTECHenterprise functions. Theywill proactively work to progress the architecture, and overall design of the Bank’s Information Systems as a corporate asset in supporting the Bank’s business objectives. This includes ensuring technical directions and optionsconsiderthe customer, constraints and future enhancements in network communication, hardware, system software and development software.

In conjunction with the other GT EP Engineering and Architecture teams: develop and maintain patterns and standards for On-Premises and C oud N ative Storage and Backup S olutions including monitoring and automation.



~ Participate in on-call engineering model to support Operations teams in resolving: ~ Responsible for managed platforms capacity planning activities in partnership with Operations andLoBs. ~ Performance requirements ~ Alignforecasts with investment planning and infrastructure strategy ~ Translate business needs into engineering deliverables and platform roadmaps. ~ Monitoring and remediation actions ~ Improve efficiency, reduce operational risk, and enable scale and consistency ~ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or other related field or equivalent work experience. ~ Should have at least 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience. ~Guided by our purpose: "for every future", we help our customers, their families and their communities achieve success through a broad range of advice, products and services, including personal and commercial banking, wealth management and private banking, corporate and investment banking, and capital markets.
