Enhance community health as a Health Equity Consultant at IWK Health, focusing on Mi'kmaq needs. This permanent, full-time position is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
In this role, you will provide specialized knowledge to elevate health services designed for Mi'kmaw peoples. You will collaborate with stakeholders to promote health equity, fostering relationships within the Indigenous community. The Consultant will also play a vital role in advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement health services for Indigenous populations • Engage with health leaders to identify community priorities • Foster collaboration for reconciliation and equity initiatives • Address discrimination and promote a secure workplace • Support organizational diversity strategies and initiatives
Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Health Services or related area • Five years of experience in health or community services • Familiarity with Indigenous health issues in the Maritimes • Experience in project management and facilitation • Strong writing and relationship-building skills
