Mechanical Designer/Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Mechanical Designer/Engineer that will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical and hydraulic systems for our innovative equipment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing new products, improving existing designs, supporting manufacturing and field operations, and ensuring our products meet performance, reliability, quality, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support current product development, including the design and development of vehicle systems, components, and attachments.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing, assembly, service, and field operations for existing products.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, service, and other internal stakeholders to ensure designs meet production and assembly requirements.
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, components, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Apply sound mechanical design principles to the development of sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
- Participate in design reviews, engineering discussions, and project meetings, providing technical expertise throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Plan and conduct product testing, validation, performance evaluations, and benchmarking activities.




- Build and assemble prototypes and test equipment as required to validate designs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), test reports, specifications, drawings, bills of materials, and other technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, and field-related issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Work closely with dealers, customers, and field personnel when required to understand product requirements and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks CAD, including 3D modeling, assemblies, detailing, and sheet metal design.
- Strong mechanical design and conceptualization skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions based on a broad range of engineering and design experience.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and hydrostatic drive systems, particularly as applied to mobile equipment or vehicle applications.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to build and assemble prototypes, develop test setups, and use instrumentation and testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team and collaborate with manufacturing, service, dealers, and customers.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic product-development environment.
