The Mineral Land Department at Canadian Natural is responsible for the acquisition, disposition and ongoing maintenance of Canadian Natural’s subsurface assets (mineral rights). As the Mineral Land Administration Student, you will be working alongside our team of Contracts Analysts, Lease Administrators, Land Information Technology/Systems and Acquisitions and Divestitures groups, who manage the agreements associated with the subsurface assets at Canadian Natural.
Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday – Friday)
Term length:4 months

Key Accountabilities and Learnings:
Learn about the various functions and roles within the Mineral Land department, including Negotiations, Acquisitions & Divestitures, Lease and Contracts Administration and Land Shared Services (Information Technology/Systems)
Build an understanding of various types of agreements including leases and contracts through coordination with the Area Contracts Analysts and Lease Administrators
Gain exposure to about the QBLM land system and the administration of this database which houses all of Canadian Natural’s subsurface, surface, joint venture and well information
Develop knowledge of the review, clean-up and digitization of files
Develop familiarity with other departments at Canadian Natural including Operations and Accounting
What You Bring to The Role:
Currently enrolled in a Petroleum Land Administration certificate, Land Analyst certificate, or Energy Asset Management diploma
Bachelor’s Degree is an asset (preferred Business or Management)
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Solid organizational and time management skills
Reliable and accountable, with the ability to follow through on tasks independently
Strong curiosity and willingness to learn
