Supervise production lines and staff to ensure timely and efficient work flow, while meeting production targets as well as quality and food safety standards.
Major Responsibilities Include:
- Schedule packaging orders for the designated shift and supervise employees to ensure the work is completed timely, effectively and safely
- Able to diagnose problems and operate machinery for packing produce
- Monitor the quantity and quality of product ensuring that it is of the required standards
- Train workers, managing more than 20 employees, maintain crop production reports, establish work schedules, resolve work related problems and handling heavy workloads, operating a forklift necessary.
- Troubleshoot and complete routine repairs, general maintenance, and preventative maintenance on smaller machines and equipment.
- Knowledge of PRIVA greenhouse climate control system, preferred
- Maintain inspection of labeling and packaging specifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year in a supervisor role leading a team of 10 - 20 employees; previous packing or production processing experience preferred
- Must be flexible, adaptable and able to work in a fast paced environment
- Bilingual English and Spanish an asset
Work Environment:
- This job operates in a hot, high humidity setting where temperatures average 90 degrees Fahrenheit, but may increase to approximately 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summertime.
